Gay Boy
Children learn very quickly what is for girls and what is for boys. Baby toys are color coded and decorated for one sex or the other. Boys who want girl toys are often laughed at and made fun of. Many times adults are more uncomfortable with a gay child’s preferences than other children. There is a lot of pressure for children to act according to social norms. It’s not easy being controversial, especially if you are a child. Children want to feel like they belong. Everybody wants the freedom to be themselves. People are creative, artistic animated works of art. The culture needs dynamic individuals who are unique.
It doesn’t matter if a boy likes girls things or vice versa, what matters is that kids are able to play and experiment with all different styles and activities. Before a child is three years old a child is unaware of the difference in their sex. The culture, the authority figures and child’s peers determine what is for girls and what is for boys. Many items are labeled for girls, such as flowers, which really have nothing to do with sex. Flowers are beautiful, miraculous and colorful, awesome to look at whether you are a girl or a boy. Wheels and things that move are just as fascinating for baby girls as they are for baby boys. Every color of the rainbow ought to be a choice for every boy and girl.
Opening our minds and hearts when it comes to gay children is the next frontier in getting at the root of the social discrimination against gay people. A certain percentage of the animal kingdom and human population is gay. Gay boys and girls have been with us since the beginning of time. It’s time we embrace them with open arms and make a place for them in our culture.
